We identify four research priorities: (1) understanding drivers of innovation and related technology cost changes, (2) quantifying co-benefits of emissions reductions along multiple sustainability dimensions, (3) designing cost-effective monitoring approaches and sampling strategies, and (4) translating global modeling results into scales that matching decisionmakers’ agency.
