Prospective postdocs

We are inviting applications for Postdoctoral Research Associates in energy transitions and climate policy. We are hiring up to two postdocs to lead innovative research that advances their professional goals and relates to core research themes in the lab. Focus areas can include fossil fuel transitions, carbon dioxide removal, prospective equity assessment of early-stage technologies, and health and equity effects of local climate policies. The priority deadline is October 2, 2024 and start dates are flexible (fall 2024 to summer 2025). More information below.

Applicants should hold a PhD in (a) an interdisciplinary energy or environmental program or (b) a relevant discipline with experience working across disciplines. Candidates who will complete their PhD before starting are eligible if they can provide confirmation from their committee. We seek applicants from a diverse range of backgrounds; please consider applying if you meet some but not all of the following qualifications:

  • Experience in either (1) quantitative methods such as systems modeling (integrated assessment, electricity systems, or air quality models) and data analysis or (2) qualitative or mixed methods research with domain expertise in energy or climate change

  • Strong coding skills in one or more programming languages (e.g., R or python)

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and experience writing effectively for academic and non-academic audiences (e.g., policymakers, community groups)

  • Experience and interest in mentoring graduate and undergraduate students

  • Commitment to advancing equity and justice in research and professional activities
