About the plant

West Riverside is a 725-megawatt combined cycle natural gas plant approved in 2016 to replace nearby coal-fired power plants. Morgan discussed the life cycle impacts of natural gas power plants. While gas plants emits roughly half as much carbon dioxide as coal during combustion, it can emit large amounts of methane during production and transportation.
